Practice Management

The Hemophilia Alliance work with its members to provide expert consultants in HTC operations and organizational management. Our experts help to interpret and clarify the complex world of 340B regulations for members. Our team has decades of experience in the hemophilia community, payer world, advocacy and legal arenas. Through the Alliance, our team shares that diverse knowledge, expertise and experience with its members.

Business Operations

Operations for a 340B program can be daunting and business is not always the primary focus of HTC leaders. We work with our members to help them optimize their HTC operations through a careful evaluation of processes and a strategic plan for goal setting and prioritization.

Financial Management

Through careful analysis of an HTC’s payer mix, patient factor usage, assay management, product pricing, shipping costs, ancillary supplies, labor costs, we help Alliance members to develop business proformas and evaluate the potential of the 340B program. In addition, we help members review and evaluate payer contracts to identify successes and potential opportunities for improvements that benefit both the HTC and payer.

How We Help with Compliance

Policies, procedures and compliance are increasing priorities for HTCs. We help Alliance member centers identify and prepare compliance policies and procedures to meet the 340B program requirements. We review the HRSA recommendations and help members achieve their goals of meeting the recommendations.

Advice on Outsourcing

Pharmacy operations and outsourcing to a contract pharmacy are difficult decisions. We help Alliance member centers evaluate their capabilities for pharmacy operations, make recommendations based on historical experiences, and assist in contract pharmacy agreements.

Pharmaceutical manufacturers have working relationships with the Alliance and its members. We help to facilitate these relationships and ensure that members receive the services and contract benefits that have been negotiated on their behalf.

Patient Education

We offer customizable, informational resources regarding 340B program to complement Alliance members’ vital patient education programs. These assets include brochures, presentations, patient handbooks and general information on the benefits to the center and patient when the 340B program is successful and sustained.

Our Work with OPA

Office of Pharmacy Affairs (OPA) is the government agency that oversees the 340B program. The Hemophilia Alliance has a working relationship with OPA in order to better facilitate oversight and HTCs’ recertifications.
